Found Dead In Apartment HereMrs. P. D. Anderson, 78, practically a life long resident of Hawarden and vicinity, was found dead in her apartment in the Mrs. John White residence here Wednesday morning by Mrs.White. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral home. Mrs. Anderson had sat on the porch Tuesday evening with Mrs. White. When found Wednesday morning, she lay across the bed and it is believed that she died Tuesday night.
She was a pioneer of Union county, S. D., and spent all her life in this vicinity with the exception of two years when she lived in Omaha. She was born June 11, 1875, on a farm in Union county southwest of Hawarden. She grew up there and was married to William Batchelder when a young woman. To this union were born four sons and one daughter. Later she married Peter D. Anderson and to this union were born two sons and three daughters.
Survivors are six sons, Leo Batchelder of Hawarden, and John Bachelder of Sioux City, Quinton Batchelder Ninkirk of Worthington, Minn., Emil D. Anderson of Ireton and Victor Anderson of Hollywood, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs, Jack Matson of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Lloyd Keehn of Hawarden, Mrs. Lillian Bursick of Quincy, Calif., and Miss Violet Anderson of Sioux City and two step-sons, Robert Anderson of Hawarden and Roy Anderson of Alcester; 30 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
