Geneva E. Halweg, 73; rural Akron, longtime Plymouth county resident, died Thursday (Aug. 8,1985) at Marian Health Center, Sioux City. She had been hospitalized 10 days.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mauer-Johnson funeral home in LeMars. Rev. Charles Wolff, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church in Craig, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery in Sioux City.

Mrs. Halweg, the former Geneva Tozier was born June 4,1912 at Leeds to Bertram and Nellie Betsworth Tozier. She married Dowie Halweg Oct. 17, 1928 in Leeds and lived in Plymouth county most of her life.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, LaMont of Omaha and Gerald of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Audrey) Mangels of Hartley and Mrs. Donald (Linda) Binkley of Hubbard, Neb.; a brother, Melvin Tozier of Green Bay, Wise.; two sisters, Elaine Servine of Jackson, Neb., and Leona Barnhart of Westfir, Oreg.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Geraldine Halweg and Erma Halweg Anderson; two grandchildren, Lance Lee Mangels and Cynthia Kay Simoes and a sister, Elleth Warren.
