DIED

Isaac Waterbury passed away at his home, one and a half mile north of Akron, in Union County, S. D., Sunday, January 7, 1912, after a long illness. He suffered a paralytic stroke about three years ago and has since been in declining health.

Decease was born at Pound Ridge, New York, about 69 years ago. During the Civil War he served in the Union Navy. Nearly 44 years ago he came west and was located for a time in the Big Sioux Valley, later going to Yankton, S. D., where he was engaged in the shoe business for twenty-three years. Eight years ago he moved his family to the farm north of town. His wife died about four years ago. As a neighbor and friend, deceased was held in high regard, and his demise is generally regretted.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Louis Springer and Angie Waterbury, and two sons, Charles and Joe, all of this locality; also two brothers and two sisters. They have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon by Rev. R. L. Stuart. Members of the G. A. R. acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.

Relatives of deceased present at the funeral from out of town: his brother, David Waterbury, and wife, of Sioux City; his nephew, Andrew J. Waterbury, of Hudson, S. D.
