Note: She is buried in Riverside Cemetery under her first married name Waterbury, Adna Viola, her mother's maiden name was Ross.

FINAL RITES ARE HELD HERE FOR MRS. ADNA WEEKS

Former Akron Resident Dies in Washington State After Brief Illness

Brief mention was made in these colmuns last week of the passing of a former well-known Akron woman, Mrs. Adna V. Weeks, in a hospital in Rellingham, Wash., on March 9, 1945, after a brief illness of pneumonia, at the age of nearly 72 years.

Adna Viola Massey was born in Union County, South Dakota, April 11, 1873, of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Massey. She resided for a tie with her parents in Plymouth County, Iowa, but later the family moved to Sioux City, where she grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage with Frank Waterbury, of Akron, Iowa, September 19, 1896. They resided in and near Akron for a number of years and then moved to Sioux City. To this union two sons, Clifton and Raymond, were born. After the death of her husband in 1927, she moved to Everson, Washington, in 1928. There she was united in marriage with Lewis E. Weeks in 1933. She was a member of the Baptist church for many years.

Left to mourn her departure are her husband, Lewis Weeks, of Everson, Wash.; two sons, Clifton Waterbury, of Lake City, Iowa, and Raymond Waterbury, of Anneortes, WAsh.; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. O. B. Naystrom, of Siou City, and four brothers, B. W. Massey, of Springview, Nevr.; Ray Mossey, of Jefferson, S. D.; Floyd Massey, of Everson, Wash., and Lloyd Massey, of Bellingham, Wash.

Mrs. Weeks was a woman of amiable and pleasant personality, a devoted wife and mother, and a helpful and valued neighbor and friend. Hers was a life of usefulness and good deeds and she hald the respect and esteem of all who knew her.

The body of Mrs. Weeks was accompanied here from Washington by her husband, Lewis Weeks, and her son, Raymond Waterbury. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends at the funeral services, which were held here Saturday afternoon in the Baptist church. In the absence of the pastor, Rev. J. Olen Kenacil the service was conducted by Rev. J. H. Flaming, of the Hawarden Baptist church. Miss Virginia Tucker sang three selections, "Face to Face," "Ivory Palaces" and "Asleep in Jesus," Mrs. V. G. Adams was the organist. Acting as pallbearers wee L. F. Sprenger, H. B. Smith, A. Waterbury, H. Soulberg, Jos. Lambert and Lee Stoutenburg. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
