John Masuen
John Masuen, 86, a LeMars native, died Tuesday at Brentwood Good Samaritan center, LeMars, after an illness of several years.
He was born Aug. 7, 1882, in LeMars and had been a farm laborer. His marriage to Mary Wanderscheid took place at Oyens, Feb. 16,1909.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Catherine church, Oyens. Rev. Gerald Wingert will officiate and burial will be in St. Catherine cemetery under direction of the Luedtke funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors are four sons, Paul, Emeron, Cyril and Nick, all in California; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Reichling, Oyens, and Mrs. Cecelia Scheitler, LeMars.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Clem Masuen, and by three sisters, Mrs. John Fiedler, Jennie Masuen and Mrs. William Scheitler.
