Harry Trafford passed away at his home at 400 6th Ave. S.W. on Saturday, January 5th, after a sickness of one week.
Mr. Trafford was born March 13th, 1864, at Lincolnshire, England. He came to the United States as a boy of 7; settled in Wisconsin; was there for several years and then moved to this community; farmed west of LeMars for a few years. Most of his life, he worked as a nurseryman and gardener in LeMars.
On Aug. 29th, 1897 (sic 1898) Otellia Szitnick and Harry Trafford were married in LeMars. Five children were born to this union.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8th, at 2:00 p. m. at the Wiltgen-Luedtke Funeral home. Rev. M. L. Straube will officiate and burial will be in the LeMars Cemetery under the direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.
Survivors included his wife, Otellia; three children: Mrs. Lawrence, (Edith) Masuen of LeMars, Mrs. Louise Haack of Remsen, and Miss Emma Trafford, of LeMars; 3 brothers: Will of Fairmont, N.D., Charles and Ernest Trafford, both of LeMars; 2 sisters, Mrs. Warren Lilly of LeMars, and Mrs. Trewhela of Bozeman, Montana; also surviving are 5 grandchildren. 3 brothers and 1 sister preceded him in death.
Remains are at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home until service time.
