DEATH OF FRANK E. WILCOX

It was with deep sorrow that this community heard of the passing of Frank Eugene Wilcox at his home, six miles northwest of Akron, in Union county, S. D., on Wednesday, April 25, 1928, at the age of 49 years, 3 months, and 22 days. There had been illness in the Wilcox home, their son, Floyd, having been seriously ill with scarlet fever, and Mr. Wilcox overtaxed his strength in caring for the sick. When he was taken with the flu, pneumonia soon resulted, and his illness extended over only a very few days so that his going was wholly unexpected by the community.

Mr. Wilcox was born at Boone, Iowa, January 3, 1879. At the age of eight years he came with his parents to the vicinity of Akron and it was in this community he continued to reside. In 1911 he was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Crow, of Akron, and together they walked until his going. Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox were the parents of two children, Floyd and Helen, and they will surely feel their great loss fully as much as their mother.

Mr. Wilcox was a hardworking, upright man and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He had been a sufferer from asthma and hay fever from boyhood, but was always cheerful and patient in all his suffereings and always planning for the welfare of his loved ones.

He leaves to mourn his untimely going; His wife and two children, Floyd and Helen; two brothers, E. A. Wilcox, of Canton, S. D., and Arthur Wilcox, of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Alex Card, of Hawarden, Iowa, and Miss Nettie Wilcox, of AKron, bwsides numerous other relatives and friends.

A brief service was held at the family home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, after which the funeral service was held in the Akron Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Wilson Gow. The large attendance completely filled the church and followed the remains to Riverside cemetery for the interment, as Mr. Wilcox was well known and much admired in this community.
