RITES ARE HELD FOR AN ESTEEMED AKRON RESIDENT
Mrs. Arthur Wilcox Spent Most Of Life In This Community
Mrs. Julia Maria Wilcox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henrick Johnson, was born November 29, 1886, at Parkersbug, Iowa. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the Brule Creek Lutheran church, and later transferred her membership to the Union Creek Lutheran church.
She was united in marriage with C. Arthur Wilcox on April 4, 1917, at Vermillion, South Dakota, and resided on their farm in Union county, S. D., until they moved to their present home in Akron. Mrs. Wilcox dedicated her life to helping family and friends, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Wilcox was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Wilcox; two sister, Mrs. Bertha Marple and Mrs. Sina Nielsen, of Akron, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon of last week at the Union Creek Lutheran church, Rev. David J. Roy officiating. The vocalists, Mrs. Audrey Ericson and Mrs. Lois Clark, sang, "Ivory Palaces" and "In The Garden." Mrs. Alveda Fickhohm was organist. Pallbearers were Emil Koch, Alfred Sommervold, Joe Lambert, Albert Anderson, Ross Root and Henry Fickbohm. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
