ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN CALLED BY DEATH SATURDAY

Last Rites Are Held Tuesday Afternoon For Mrs. Jonas Brundeen

Mrs. Jonas Brundeen, of this city, a resident of this vicinity all her life, passed away Saturday, September 10, 1949, following an operation, at the age of 65 years and 10 months.

Marie Hannah Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustaf Anderson, was born in union county, South Dakota, October 10, 1883. In 1910 she was married to Jonas Brundeen. To this union was born one son, Arnold. Mr. and Mrs. Brundeen farmed in Union county a number of years before coming to Akron to make their home.

Mrs. Brundeen was a member of the First Baptist church, of Akron. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and sister, and a kind and helpful neighbor. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Besides her husband, Jonas, she is survived by one son, Arnold, of Cherokee, Iowa; a grandson, Everett; three brothers, William Anderson, of Van Nuys, Calif.; Robert and Olaf, of Akron, and one sister, Christine Anderson, of Akron, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. at the First Baptist church, preceded by a brief service at the Brundeen home. Pastors Dean Orris and David Roy officiated, the latter using as his sermon text, from Psalm 31:24, "Be strong and let thy heart take courage, all ye that hope in the Lord." Special music was furnished by Mr. H. J. Behmer, soloist, and Mrs. V. G. Adams, organist. Pallbearers were John Frisk, Ernest Anderson, Lee Stoutenburg, Clarence Kjose, Fred Claesson, Harry Nelson. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star held a service at the graveside. Interment was in the New Riverside cemetery.

Relatives who came from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Anderson, of Van Nuys, Calif.; Oscar and Arthur and Miss Anna. Lund, of Bruce, S. D.
