DEATH COMES TO FORMER AKRON MAN ON NOVEMBER 13

William H. Whitehouse, a former well known Akron resident, died at his home, 1407 Nebraska street, in Sioux City, on Thursday afternoon, November 13, 1947, from a heart attack believed to have been induced by inhaling fumes from a welding torch. He was about 61 years of age.
According to a Sioux City paper, Mr. Whitehouse had been welding with an acetylene torch at the Michael-Leonard Seed Co., plant there, when he became faint from the funes. He was taken home and a physician was called, and when he was preparing to go to a doctor's office he suffered the attack. A fire department inhalator squad and a police emergency squad were unable to revive him.
Mr. Whitehouse was born at Mount Olive, Ill., where he grew to manhood. He came to Akron twenty-five or more years ago and was married here to Miss Dora Hitzemann, who preceded him in death. Fifteen years ago he located in Sioux City and had been employed by the Michael-Leonard Seen Co. there since.
Surviving are his second wife, Marie; three brothers, Fred and Harry both of Gillespie, Il., and Elmer of St. Louis, Mo., and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Martels and Mrs. Al. Mueller, both of St. Louis; Mrs. Mardie Basola, of Benid, Ill., and Mrs. FRank Ackerman, of Staunton, Ill.
Many friends in Akron vicinity were sorry to hear of his death and extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at a Sioux City funeral home, and interment was in a cemetery there. Rev. W. A. Voss conducted the services.
