Note: According to other obituaries the last name is actually spelled Hitzemann. His mother's maiden name is Menke.

FORMER AKRON MAN CALLED

Charles Hitzeman, 70, a former resident of Akron, passed away Wednesday morning, March 9, 1938, at his home in Sioux City, after an extended illness.

Mr. Hitzeman was born in Cook County, Ill., September 24, 1867. He came to Akron with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hitzeman, when a young man. For the past 25 years he had lived in Sioux City, where he was employed as an engineer.

He is survived by his widow, Mabel; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Vanderbeek, of Rapid City, S. D., and Mazie Hitzeman, of Pasadena, Calif., two sons, Earl and Clifford, of Sioux City; two sister, Mrs. Emma Reemts, of Akron, and Dora Whitehouse, of Sioux City, and three brothers, August, Herman, and Louis, of Akron.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed today (Thursday).

Mr. Hitzeman's many friends here regret to hear of his death and extend sympathy to his relatives.
