FINAL SUMMONS COMES TO FORMER AKRON RESIDENT

Herman Hitzemann Had Been Invalid Three Years
Funeral Here Tuesday

Herman Hitzemann, a former well-known Akron resident, passed away Saturday, July 21, 1951, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Tom Burnight, in Sioux City, Iowa, after an illness of about three years, part of which time he had been an invald. He was 85 years, 1 month, and 27 days of age.

Mr. Hitzemann was bornMay 24, 1866 at Subette, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hitzemann. He came to Akron when a young man with his parents, and for many years engaged in carpenter work here. On May 1, 1897, he was united in marriage with Miss Catherin Blum, and one daughter Irene, came to bless their union. He retired from active work about ten years ago and went to live with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burnight, in Sioux City.

Besides his daughter, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Reemts, of Jacksonville, Floriday; also by a number of nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife on May 30, 1940, and by two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Simeon and Mrs. Dora Whitehouse, and four borthres, August, Charles, George and Louis Hitzemann.

Funeral services were held here at the Rossow Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon. Interment was beside his wife in the Catholic cemetery here.
