MRS. A. HITZEMANN CALLED BY DEATH TUESDAY, AUG. 18

Rites Held Friday For Lifelong Local Area Resident

Mrs. Adolph Hitzemann, a lifelong resident of this vicinity, passed away Tuesday, August 18, in a Sioux City hospital, after a week's illness, aged 61 years and 8 months.

Alpha Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Johnson, was born Dec. 14, 1902, at Richland, S. D. She attended local schools and business College and did secretarial work for a number of years.

She married Adolph Hitzemann February 10, 1927, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Having farmed in South Dakota for several years the Hitzemanns moved to a far west of Chatsworth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son and a daughter.

Survivors include the wodower; a daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Norman Hartman) of Alcester, S. D.; a son Melvin of Akron, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Ferne Amundson of Placentia, Calif., Mrs. Mae Rawlings of Sioux City and Mrs. Gladys Nygard of Elk Point, S. D.; a brother, Carol Johnson of Elk Point, S. D., and four grandchildren.

They sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved relatives.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church here, Rev. Harris Hostager officiating. Music consisted of a duet by Mrs. Margaret Stoutenburg and Mrs. Pearl Johnson, and congregational singing. Miss Sharon Fletcher was organist. Casket bearers were Wayne Von Hagel, Robert Hitzemann, Dennis Amundson, Eldon Von Hagel, Harold Kleihauer and George Hitzemann. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
