MARVIN KOVARNA
Marvin Kovarna, 75, of Spencer, Iowa, died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa. Services were held June 12, 2002, at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, Iowa, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Marvin Kovarna was born September, 3 1926, at rural Merrill, Iowa, to James and Clara (Hartman) Kovarna. He graduated from Liberty Consolidated School in 1944. He married Wilma Gleason on February 3, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa. He farmed and also operated a salvage yard for many years and was a resident of Merrill area for many years. He had lived in Spencer for the past several months. He is survived by two daughters Sande Geidl and her husband Randy of Spencer; and Lynett Kayl and her husband John of Sioux City; three sons Daniel Kovarna and his wife Pamela of Mapleton Iowa ; James Kovarna of Merrill; and Ronald Kovarna and his wife Brenda of Merrill; two sisters Lois Newberg and her husband Bedford of Hinton; and Delores Parry and her husband Wendell of Fountain Valley, California; one brother Stanley Kovarna and his wife Alma of Merrill; 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and a dear friend Wilma Kovarna of Sioux City. Preceded him in death by both parents and two brothers, Donald and Robert Kovarna.
