LLOYD TULLIS
Lloyd Tullis, 80, of Hinton died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Sunrise Retirement Home in Sioux City following a lengthy illness. Lloyd Tullis, son of William and Gertrude (Van Dyke) Tullis, was born March 16, 1922, on his parents farm at rural Merrill, Iowa. He graduated from Liberty Township county school in Plymouth County in 1939. On September 30, 1948, he married Marguerite Nit at First United Methodist Church in Sioux City. He farmed in the Hinton area his entire life. Lloyd was a 4-H leader, Little League coach, a field representative and county committee officer for Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS), and was a Dekalb-Pfizer Genetics Seed Corn dealer from 1968 to 1998. He was an avid fisherman and a high school and college sports fan. Survivors include his wife Marguerite of Hinton, three sons Bruce Tullis and his wife Cathy of Merrill, Keith Tullis and his wife Lynette of Merrill, Paul Tullis of Hinton, one sister Mona Lund of Michigan City, Indiana, one sister-in-law Monica Tullis of Spokane, Washington, 11 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded him in death his parents, three brother, and three sisters. Services were held Monday at Meyer Brother Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. HINTON, Iowa--Lloyd E. Tullis, 80, of Hinton died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Sunrise Retirement Home in Sioux City following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Kathy Olson of Danbury United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
Mr. Tullis was born March 16, 1922, on his parents' farm in rural Merrill, Iowa, the son of William and Gertrude (Van Dyke) Tullis. He graduated from Liberty Township country school (Plymouth County) in 1939.
He married Marguerite Nitz on Sept. 30, 1948, at First United Methodist Church in Sioux City. He farmed in the Hinton area all his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Larry Johnson, Warren Tullis, Tom Tullis, Dan Nelson, Dwight Petzoldt and Donald Petzoldt.
