Mrs. Sophia J. Zieger

Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia J. Zieger, 78, Miller. S.D., were held May 2 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church there. Burial was in Sunbeam cemetery.

Mrs. Miller, a LeMars native, died April 28, 1976. in the Prairie Center home, Miller.

Sophia Johanna Ahrendt was born July 22. 1897, to Carl and Elizabeth Westhoff Ahrendt in LeMars.Her marriage to Frank A. Zieger took place April 30, 1919. They lived most of their married lives on a farm north of St. Lawrence S.D For a short time they lived in Iowa and Minnesota.

Mr. Zieger preceded her in death in 1958 and a year later she moved to Miller. Since 1969 she has been a resident of Prairie Center home.

Survivors are two sons, Hubert of St. Lawrence and Ralph of Miller. seven grandchildren and a great-grandson; four sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) Binneboese and Mrs. Harm (Louise) Kruse, both of LeMars; Mrs Jack (Ida) Petersen. Merrill, and Mrs. Bertha Waldum, Sioux City, and a brother, Carl W. Ahrendt, LeMars

She also was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Hilda and a bother. Herbert.

Attending funeral services from this area were Mrs. John Binneboese, Mr. and Mrs. Harm Kruse, Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Ahrendt, Mrs. William Van Buskirk, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kruse and Tim, Charles Kruse, . Mr and Mrs. Ernest Meyer, Fred J. H. Plueger, and Charles F. G, Plueger all of LeMars.
