Gladys Wynola Rozell
Gladys Wynola Rozell, 80, of Akron, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City after a brief illness.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1:30 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron with Rev. William Flemer officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron.
Casketbearers were Terry Christensen, Roger Heyl, Alan Heyl, Daryl Smith, Laverle Rozell, Dale Hartman, and Stan Willer.
Rev. William and Sue Flemr sang "How Great Thou Art," and the congretation sang "In the Garden," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Carol Harris was organist.
Mrs. Rozell was born Feb. 8, 1915, in Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Wyatt and Josephine (Christensen) Heyl. She attended school in Akron. She married Arden Rozell Jan. 15, 1936, in Akron. They farmed south east of Akron for many years until moving to Akron in 1963. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Rozell enjoyed gardening and needlework. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran's Ladies Aid Society.Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen and her husband Gene Erks of Akron, and Sharon Servis of Sioux City; one son, Richard and his wife Diane Rozell of Marshalltown, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Monte Erks, Kristen Betts, Jana, Matt, and Jay Rozell, Garth and Tracy Servis; one brother, Don Heyl and his wife Debbie of Hawarden, Iowa; one great-granddaughter, MaKenzie Servis.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
