PUTNAM--In Akron, Iowa, November 20, 1897, of quick consumption. John B. Putnam, son of Geo. C. Putnam, aged 33 years, one month and 20 days.

John B. Putnam was born at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, October 31, 1864, where he spent his early boyhood. The family moved to Akron, and in 1892 he went to Kimball, S. D. He recently returned from there for the purpose of being treatd for consumption, but the fatal disease was too far advanced for any help.

He leaves a wife and several relatives to mourn his departure.

The funeral services were helfd at the residence of his brother, and the remains interred in the Akron cemetery.
