Edward Pendleton Dies At Moville
Came To Plymouth County When a Boy

Ed. J. Pendleton, a former resident of Westfield township and a member of a pioneer family of this county, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edna Etler, of Moville, Iowa, on Wednesday, January 6, 1943.

Edward John Pendleton was born at Elk Grove, Wisconsin, June 19, 1871, and in his childhood came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Pendleton, to Plymouth County, Iowa, locating on a farm southeast of Akron. He made his home in that community until a few years ago, since when he had resided with his children on farms near Moville.

Mr. Pendleton lived in LeMars for a few years at one time.

In the year 1897 he was united in marriage with Emma Petty. To this union seven children were born, five daughters and two sons, Mrs. Bessie Corbin of Smithland, Mrs. Clara Hahne of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Edna Etler and Earl and Raymond Pendleton of Moville, and Mrs. Eva Frazer and Carrie deceased. He also leaves six grandchildren and one great grandchild, two brothers, Jas. Pendleton of Brunsville, and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Smith of Sioux City and Mrs. Carrie Ogden, of Akron.

Funeral services were held in the Akron Methodist church Saturday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. A. Howe. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
