Joyce A. Lanagan, 78, of Sioux City passed away Friday, June 30, 2006, at a Sioux City nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be in memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Joyce was born March 20, 1928, in Merrill, Iowa, to David and Fannie (Simmons) Woodley. She married Robert Lanagan on Dec. 22, 1947 in Sioux City.
Joyce belonged to the Sun Valley Ladies Golf League. She loved to fish golf and swim. She was a people person and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson. She was very crafty and loved to sew.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Lanagan of Sioux City, a son, Scott and his wife, Pooky of Sioux City, a daughter, Kathleen Sabo of Red Oak, Iowa; a brother, chester Woodley of North Sioux City; a sister Beverly and her husband, Warren Livengood of Sioux City; four grandchildren. Steven and Krista Sabo, Joshua and his wife, Kate Lanagan and Cody Lanagan, a great-grandchild, Kolton Schutt; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.Pallbearers will be Steven Sabo, Josh Lanagan, Cody lanagan, John Pannas, Tom Clark, and Jerry Kohoutek. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Soulliere, Chuck Hanson, Kolton Schutt, Doug Bowers, Warren Livengood, and Chester Woodley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Hospice of Siouxland.
