MARVIN WIENER
Marvin Carl Wiener, 81, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Hinton, Iowa, died on Friday, February 2, 2001, at his residence in Sioux City. Marvin Carl Wiener was born on October 29, 1919, in rural Lawton, Iowa, the son of Chris and Frances (Heimgartner) Wiener. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church on March 14, 1920, and confirmed there on April 14, 1935. He attended country school in Stanton Township. Following his education Marvin assisted his family with farming. On October 1, 1941, Marvin and Gertrude Taute were married at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on a farm near Hinton. In December of 1957 they moved to Sioux City. Marvin drove trucks for several trucking firms including Mayflower of Sioux City. He later received his professional license and worked as a stationary engineer at the Plaza Professional Center and St. Luke’s Hospital. He returned to Hinton to farm with his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, dancing, and playing Pinochle. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Elliot; Mark and his wife Kathleen; Christine Case and her husband Timothy; Megan Leah Stolen,all of Sioux City Iowa, and Kimberly Pennington of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 20 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, a sister Naoma Peterson and her husband Jim of Huron, South Dakota, sisters-in-law Gail Wiener of Sioux City, Iowa, Esther Wiener of Le Mars, Iowa, a brother-in-law Arthur Taute of Le Mars, Iowa, his godmother Amanda Howe of Le Mars, Iowa. He preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Barbara, granddaughter Maggie, brothers Albert, Ernst, Melvin and Louis, sisters Irene and Loma. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial at the church cemetery.
