MARGUERITE ALLISON
Marguerite Allison, 92, of Le Mars died Wednesday July 4, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital. Services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Le Mars. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery Neptune, rural Hinton. Mrs. Allison was born June 7, 1909, near Neptune, Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Ruhland) Britt. She was raised in the Neptune area and graduated from country school. She married Arthur Allison on September 8, 1931, in Neptune. The couple farmed near Neptune until his death on March 2, 1972. She then moved to Le Mars. In 1999 she moved to Sioux City. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include five daughters Arlene and her husband Ben Erdmann of Le Mars; Mary Jane Buckley of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Avila and her husband Ron McCoy of Omaha, Nebraska; Rosalie and her husband Mark Tentinger of Waterloo, Iowa; Glenda Meis of Sioux City; a son-in-law Fred Wiebersch and his wife Rita of Dubuque, Iowa; two sisters-in-law Elizabeth Parry and Marie Britt both of Le Mars; 26 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren. She preceded in death by two daughters Sharon Allison and Patricia Wiebersch; an infant son; a son-in-law Dan Buckley; three grandchildren and three brothers Minert, Aloys, Vernon Britt.
