CARL EPLING DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Carl Epling, an old resident of Plymouth county, died at his home west of Kingsley, Saturday, February 14, after a short illness, and the funeral services were conducted by Rev Valmar of LeMars, from the Congregational church in Kingsley last Wednesday, after which the remains were interred in the Kingsley cemetery. The deceased was born in Germany and was at the time of his death 78 years, 10 months and 5 days old.

He came to America in the year 1867 and settled in the state of Ohio where he was married. He was the father of twelve children two of whom with the wife and mother, preceeded him to the Great Beyond. Ten of the children, nine sons and one daughter survive him. He moved with his family to Plymouth county in the year 1898 and lived near Merrill for one year when he moved to a farm near Kingsley, where he resided until his death.

Carls parents were Christian Friedrich Ludwig and Sophie Louise Friederike Wilhelmine Labes Eppling. He married Henriette Radzinsky in 1870, she died in 1882 in Ohio. He then married Maria L. C. Mueller. His surviving children were Louisa Mina Schieferstien, Karl Eppling, Julius Eppling by Henriette Radzinsky; and Herman, Otto, Ernst, Leonard, August, Robert, and Walter Eppling by Maria Mueller
