ESTHER WIENER
Esther Wiener, 90 a resident, of the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars died Saturday August 25, 2001, at Brentwood. The former Esther Muecke was born on July 3, 1911, on the Muecke family farm in Lincoln Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Minnie (Speckman) Muecke. She attended county school and later Central High School in LeMars. She assisted her family on the farm prior to her marriage to Ernest Walter Wiener on December 22, 1937, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on a farm near James prior to moving to the Muecke family farm in Lincoln Township. Esther assisted Ernest with farming and with their extensive cattle feeding operation. They moved to Le Mars in 1976 and retired in 1978. Mr. Wiener passed away on June, 30, 1989. Esther moved to Brentwood Good Samaritan Center on November 4, 1998. Esther was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She and Ernest were baptized together on August 6, 1911, and confirmed on April 5, 1925. Esther also taught Sunday school in her younger years. Survivors include her sister Mildred Lang of Le Mars; three sister-in-law Naoma Peterson and her husband Jim of Huron, South Dakota; Mrs. Louis (Gail) Wiener and Mrs. Marvin Wiener both of Sioux City; a brother-in-law Arthur Taute of Le Mars; 31 nieces and nephews. She preceded in death by her parents; a sister Ruth; a niece Eleanor. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hinton. Burial in the church cemetery.
