AKRON, Iowa -- Donald L. Kiewel, 55, of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Akron, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at his residence.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, with the Rev. Dawn Quame of Immanuel Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Akron. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Albert E. Hoschler Post 186 of Akron. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Carlsen Funeral Home-Schroeder Chapel in Akron.
Donald L. Kiewel was born Aug. 12, 1949, in Akron, the son of Edward and Lorraine (Jammerthal) Kiewel. He spent his early years in the Akron area. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a construction worker in Florida.
Survivors include three children, Jonathan Kiewel, Timothy Kiewel and Tammie Kiewel, all of Florida; his mother, Lorraine Kiewel of Akron; three brothers, Darrell Kiewel and his wife, Mary of Akron, Stanley Kiewel of Lucerne Valley, Calif., and Douglas Kiewel and his wife, Jeannie of Alvin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Justin Kiewel, Ayla Royer, Jessica Royer, Mandilynn Kiewel, Tara Kay Kiewel, Michael Kiewel and Brandon Kiewel; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Kiewel on July 14, 2005; and his wife, Daralane Kiewel.
We all loved him and we will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.
