ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN DIES AFTER A LONG ILLNESS

Last Rites Are Held Tuesday Afternoon For Mrs. Lloyd Morehead

Following an extended illness, Mrs. Lloyd Morehead passed away Saturday, September 14, at the Akron Hospital, aged 49 years, 1 month and 3 days.

Helen Wendt was born in Akron August 11, 1914, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wendt. She grew up here and was educated in the Akron public schools. On May 28, 1933, she was united in marriage with Lloyd Morehead, of Akron, and lived here practically all her life, except for a brief period when she and her husband farmed east of Leeds, Sioux City.

Mrs. Morehead was a member of Wesley Methodist church and active in organizations in the children’s department of the Sunday school for several years. Her pleasant and helpful nature made her a favorite in the circle of her acquaintance. Her untimely departure is regretted by many friends, who extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

The survivor include her husband, Lloyd; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Tiemens, of Royal Oak, Mich., and Pamela Morehead, at home; two brothers, Morten Wendt of Arlington, Va., and Sherwood Wendt, of Sedalia, M..; two grandchildren, and her step-father, Louis Kallke.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Wesley Methodist church, Rev. Donald Roberts officiating. Mrs. Leslie Mitchell was soloist and Mrs. and Mrs. Orin Harris was accompanist.

Casket bearers were Harold Johnson, Gordon Kilstrom, Robert Tucker, Aral Jurgensen, Frank Johnson and Fred Claesson, Jr. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
