Beverly “Bev” Goebel, 51, of Sioux City died Saturday, September 30, 2000, at a Lincoln, Nebraska, while waiting for a heart transplant. Mrs. Goebel was born September 24, 1949, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert and Irene (Tieck) Vondrak. She was raised on a farm near Merrill, Iowa, and graduated from Hinton High School in 1968. She graduated from Westmar College in Le Mars Iowa in 1972. She married Garry Goebel on June 6, 1981, in Ellendale, Iowa. She taught school at Le Mars Gehlen for 13 years. She was then employed as a bookkeeper with Joe’s Department Store. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Services were held at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ellendale, Iowa. Survivors include her husband; a daughter Ashely at home; a son Adam at home; three brothers and their wives Tim and Sandy Vondrak; Robert and Lucille Vondrak; Tony and Kris Vondrak all of Merrill; five sisters and husband Donna and Roger Wieck of Jefferson, Iowa; Edie and Doug Prewitt; Julie and DeWayne Juelfs all of Merrill; Jane and Mike McDougall; Roxanne and Merlin Wagner all of Le Mars Iowa. She preceded in death by a brother Eddie and her parents.
