MALCOLM ROBINSON
Malcolm “Mike” Robinson, 88, of Hinton died Tuesday, February 8, 2000, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, February 12, 2000, at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton, Iowa. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitations will be after 2:00 p. m. Friday, February 11, 2000, at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home with a 7:30 prayer service Friday evening at the funeral home. Malcolm Robinson was born March 19, 1911, on the family farm near Center, Nebraska, to William and Molly (Phillips) Robinson. As a young child Mike moved with his family to Northwest Iowa. Mike was united in marriage to Viola Kounkel on April 11, 1942, at Dakota City, Nebraska. Mike farmed and drove truck for many years. From 1967 to 1980 Mike and Viola operated Robinson Station at the intersection on K-49 and C-60. Viola passed away on November 17, 1994. Mike was a longtime member of the National Farmers Organization and Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law Fred and Barbara Robinson; Daniel and Jocelyn Robinson all of Hinton, a daughter Diane Goodon of Sioux City; a son-in-law Ronald Jordan of Sioux City; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He preceded in death by his parents; his wife Viola in 1994; a daughter Glenda on June 11, 1999; six brothers and three sisters.
