ALBERT PORSCH
Albert Porsch, 89, of rural Hinton died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at his winter residence in San Benito, Texas. Mr. Porsch was born May 3, 1910, in rural Kingsley, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Gruenberg) Porsch. He was baptized June 26, 1910, in Lincoln Township. He was educated in the Plymouth County school system and was confirmed in 1932 at the Lutheran Church in Moville. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Hinton for many years. On May 23, 1940, he married Florence Bashaw. After their marriage the couple farmed near Kingsley and Sioux City for several years before moving to their farm at Hinton. He was a lifelong farmer and continued to help others with farming after his retirement. Mrs. Porsch died December 25, 1983. Mr. Porsch enjoyed spending winters in San Benito and participated in many activities there. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, baseball, traveling, attending country fairs, air shows and parades. He was interested in all new technological developments in science and space research. Survivors include a sister, Selma Muecke of Hinton; a brother John Porsch of Kingsley. He preceded in death by his parents; one sister Bertha Zellmer; two brothers Theodore and Harry. Funeral services were held Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton. Burial was in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville.
