PAULA PAGELER

Paula Pageler, 69, of Le Mars died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars.

Mrs. Pageler was born April 25, 1930, in Lier Antwerp, Belgium, the daughter of Fransoe DeMeeter and Maria Salestina Joanna Steylaerts.

She married Donald Pageler on October 30, 1946, in Lier, Antwrp Belgium at the end of World War 11. The couple has lived in Southern California and Le Mars, Iowa. They moved to Hospers, Iowa, in 1988, after their retirement.

They were members of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers. Donald died in July of 1996. Mrs. Pageler moved to Denver, Colorado, for a short time and returned to Le Mars after her illness.

Mrs. Pageler enjoyed crocheting, kmitting, reading, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons Ronald of Seattle, Washington; Carl and his wife Brenda of Moreo Valley, California; Mark of Denver, Colorado; Gary and his wife Sondra of Le Mars; three daughters Rita and her husband Robert Goebel of Granville; Eliese and her husband Robert Hoffman of Merrill; Gina and her husband Steve Stoos of Le Mars; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three half brothers, and two half sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday January 12, 2000, in Le Mars. Burial was in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Craig.
