Clarence Eugene Davis, Jr.

Clarence Eugene Davis, Jr., 64, of Akron died Saturday, Aug. 13, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services were held Tuesday, August 16 at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron with the Rev. William Flemr officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery Mr. Davis was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Dunda, S.D., the son of Clarence Sr. and Lillian (Mohr) Davis. He attended Vermlllion (S.D.) school. He was a truck driver for H & I Grain Co. and Higman Sand and Gravel and Liquid Carriers for most of his life in the Vermillion, Sioux City and Akron areas. He also was a mechanic for Heyl Truck Line in Akron for several years, retiring in 1985. He married Shirley Feuston June 24, 1950. at Vermillion.

Survivors include his mother. Lillian Davis of Vermillion; a daughter. Sue McDowell of Charleston, S.D.; four sons, Larry of St. Marys, Ga., Ron of Sioux City, Steve of Sergeant Bluff and Dennis of Akron; a special friend, Phyllis Pulscher of Akron; five sisters, lola Speulda of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Erma Larson, Darlene Bottlofson, Donna Sommervold and Patty Lewison, all of Vermillion; a brother Richard Davis of Vermillion; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Davis) Allen; his father; a son, Bruce, and a brother, Lawrie.

Casket bearers were Wayne Sheveland, Steve Davis, Larry Davis, Ron Davis, Dennis Davis, and Chad Davis.
