Lenora A. Sargent was born, in Wright county, Ia., May 6, 1867. When a babe her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Sargent, removed to Akron, in on the border of South Dakota, where she grew to womanhood. On July 2, 1887, she was united in marriage to Mr. C. A. Searls at Akron, and they made their home there until 1910, when they moved to Brookings county and settles on a farm northeast of Brookings. In 1917 they left the farm and made their home in Brookings where she resided up to the time of her death.

Besides the husband there is left to mourn her eight children.
