The last six years Mr. Searls had resided in California, making his home with his sister, Mrs. Lillian Hollister, at San Jose.
Left to mourn the passing of a kind and loving father are six sons—Edgar G., of Redlands, Calif.; Roscoe J., of near Brookings; D. Burdette, of Bruce, S. D.; Harry A., of Brookings C. Paul, of Devil's Lake, N. D., and Donald J., of Denver, Colo.; and one daughter, Mrs. Chris P. (Lillian) Hass, of Portland, Ore. He is also survived by three sister, Mrs. Lillian Hollister, of San Jose; Mrs. Belle Eaton of Pecatonics, Ill., and Mrs. Libbie Adams, of Akron, Iowa; and three brothers, Fred, of San Jose, and Howard and Gilbert of Akron, Iowa.
Of a cheerful, kindly disposition, he endeared himself to all with whom he came in contact, and a host of friends sincerely regret his departure.
