PETER RUDEN
Pete Ruden, 38, of Marcus died Monday, September 30, 1996, as a result of injuries suffered in a construction accident at Meiden, Iowa. Services were held on Thursday, October 3, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. Burial was in holy Name Cemetery. Peter Raymond Ruden was born July 12, 1958, at Le Mars, Iowa. He was the son of Arnold and Florentine (Schreier) Ruden. A lifelong Marcus area resident, he graduated from Marcus High School in 1976. He married Wendy Briggs on April 15, 1983, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. He farmed north of Marcus and did carpentry work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, softball and playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Wendy, of Marcus; a son, Cody, and a daughter, Carly, at home; his mother, Florentine Ruden, of Marcus; six brothers, Jim and his wife Diane Ruden; Bob Ruden and fiance Vicki DeYoung; Rich and his wife Debby Ruden all of Marcus; Fred and his wife Lois Ruden of Taylor, Texas; Ron and his wife Nadine Ruden of Hinton, Iowa; Denny Ruden of Hospers, Iowa; two sisters, Margie and her Husband Phil Schroeder of Remsen, Iowa; Kathy Steffen of Cherokee, Iowa; father and mother-in-law Roger and Fran Briggs of Cleghorn, Iowa, and sisters-in-law Cindy Briggs of Marcus; Ev Briggs of Altoona, Iowa. He preceded in death by his father, Arnold, in 1987.
