GRANT TOWNSHIP FARMER ENDS LIFE

Rites Held Tuesday At Craig Church For Eilert B. Borchers

Eilert B. Borchers, 48, well-known farmer, committed suicide by hanging at his farm in Grant township, this county, last Friday night. He was found hanging from a rafter in a machine shed Saturday morning by members of his family. No suicide note or other evidence of reason for the act was found.

Mr. Borchers was born in Preston township, October 5, 1902, where he lived until 1931, when he married Leone Marienau and moved to Grant township.

Surviving are his wife, Leone two sons, Arlen and Thomas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Borchers, of near Ireton; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Moeller and Mrs. Richard Stuekenbruck, both of Sioux Center, IA., and two brothers, Louis and William, of Ireton.

Funeral services were held in St. John’s Lutheran church, Craig, Tuesday, Rev. W. K. Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the Craig cemetery.
