JOYCE V. SCHNEIDER
Joyce Schneider, 79, of Hinton died Thursday April 15, 1999, at a Sioux City nursing home after a lengthy illness. The former Joyce Erickson was born October 31, 1919, in Sioux City, the daughter of Gustaf and Olga (Nordstorm) Erickson. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1937. On September 17, 1956, she married Donald Schneider in Luverne, Minnesota. Joyce worked in the billing department at Iowa Public Service and later in personnel at Zenith until its closing. Then she worked as a bookkeeper for Woodbury County Homestead for 17 years until her retirement in 1955. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City where she served as a Sunday school teacher on the Church Council and the women’s Missionary society. Survivors include one son and his wife Sue of Merrill, one daughter Jody Richer of Hinton, two grandsons Eric and Corey Richer, two granddaughters Michelle and Geana Schneider, two sister-in-laws, Mabel Erickson of Sioux City and Lucille and her husband George Newman of Spirit Lake, one brother-in-law Robert Schneider Jr. of Hinton. She preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and a brother, Donald Erickson. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 17, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
