Note: According to a follow-up article in the newspapers talking of the estate, his first name was listed as Benhard.

Ben Borchers, Sr., of Preston township, died Wednesday night at about 9 o’clock. He had only been sick a few days and his death came as a great shock to a great many of his friends.

Mr. Borchers was nearly sixty-five years old, but was always a busy man. He was an upright and honored citizen.

He was buried in the Lutheran church in Preston township on Friday.

The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad bereavement.
