Mrs. Claude Burris

Mrs. Claude Burris, 82, of Akron, died Thursday (April 22, 1982) in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Akron. The Rev. Stanley Stone officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery in Akron under direction of the Schroeder funeral home. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Mitchell Borchers, Jerry Borchers, Tim Granstrom, Craig Burris, Larry Knecht, and Lowell Hoschler.

Mrs. Burris, the former Agatha Burke, was born Aug. 1, 1899, in Fort Yates, N. D. She was married Dec. 3, 1915, in Sioux City. The couple moved to Akron in 1924. Mr. Burris died Oct. 1971.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Joy Neal of Temecula, Calif., Mrs. Darrell (Addie) Lucken of Craig, Mrs. Howard (Tunney) Dailey of Gardena, Calif. and Mrs. Charles (Sandy) Borchers of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; four sons, James of Riviera, Ariz., Loren of Saginaw, Mich., Wayne of Sioux City and Claude of Phoenix; one sister, Mrs. Henrietta Hoschler of Akron; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
