AKRON, Iowa -- Kathryn "Tunny" Granstrom-Dailey, 77, of Akron, formerly of Gardena, Calif., passed way Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Akron Care Center in Akron.

Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Carlsen Funeral Home-Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Akron. Visitation with the family present will be 6 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Kathryn R. "Tunny" Granstrom-Dailey was born June 18, 1928, in Akron, the daughter of Claude and Agatha (Burke) Burris. She was baptized into the Christian faith. She attended school in Akron and graduated from Akron High School.

She was united in marriage to Wendell Granstrom. In 1971 she moved to California.

She was united in marriage to Howard Dailey. The couple made their home in Gardena. Howard passed away in 1985. In June 2005, she moved back to Akron because of her health.

She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed bowling and watching sports on television. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include seven children, Edith "Susie" Knecht of Akron, Terry Granstrom and his wife, Karen of Napa Valley, Calif., Tim Granstrom of Dakota Dunes, S.D., Tom Granstrom and his wife, Sherry of Torrance, Calif., Wendy Blum and her husband, Steve of Dakota Dunes, Todd Granstrom and Troy Granstrom, both of Gardena; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Addie Luken of Le Mars, Iowa, and Sandy Borchers of Gravois Mills, Mo.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; a sister, Joy Neal; and four brothers, Wayne Burris, Jim Burris, Loren Burris and Claude Burris.
