RITES ARE HELD FOR ANDREW TROMETER

Well-Known Akron Man Dies June 2, After A Long Illness

Andrew Trometer departed this life on Tuesday evening, June 2, at 7:45, in the Veterans' Hospital in Sioux Falls, S. D.. after an illness of several months' duration. He was 67 year; 4 months and 26 days of age.

Andrew Trometer was born at Merrill, Iowa, January 7, 1892. He lived most of his life in Plymouth county. On August 31, 1919, he was united in marriage with Miss Leota Begner. They lived at Merrill, Hinton and Lake Benton, Minnesota, before moving to the Akron vicinity, where they have lived for about 32 years. They lived during this time on a farm in Union county, S. D., and more recently here in the town of Akron. Just before illness forced his retirement, he was drayman and mail carrier between the depot and the post office. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him.

Those who survive to mourn his departure are: his wife; two sons, Merlin and Melvin, both of Akron; six daughters, Jeanette Mcpherson, of Ha warden; Alice Harvey, Blanche Trometer, Marilyn Trometer, lona Clarey and Neva Hawks, all of Akron; his sister, Mrs. Katherina Baker, of Sioux City; thirteen grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

The funeral service was held last Friday afternoon at the Rossow Funeral Home, with Pastor David J. Roy officiating. Mrs. Hugh Swift, accompanied by Miss Carol Brown, sang "In the Garden" and "The 'Old Rugged Cross." Casket bearers were Avery Small, Frank Jacobs, Victor Neal, Clair McCorkell, Lloyd Meyer and A. E. Lake. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
