From the August 5, 1895 LeMars Semi-Weekly Sentinel:
Mrs. Vie Woodard, wife of O. P. Woodard, died last night at her home on Howard street. The deceased has been a great sufferer for weary months with dropsy and complicated troubles. The funeral will be at the Methodist church tomorrow at 10 a.m. conducted by the pastor; Rev. Joel A. Smith.
From the Thursday, August 8, 1895 Hawarden Independent:
Mrs. C. P. Woodard (sic), daughter of J. C. Welliver, of this city, died at her home in LeMars last Thursday. The deceased was a great sufferer for many weary months from dropsy and complicated troubles.
Poster's note: From the 1880 Federal Census for Plymouth County, it appears that Vie Welliver, the daughter of Sarah and John C. Welliver, was born about 1870 in Illinois. According to the March 6, 1891 Lemars Globe, a marriage license was issued to Otis C. Woodard and Violet Welliver on February 14, 1891.
