Loren Clark, 58, of Le Mars passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Le Mars. Rev. Jon Meredith will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the First Baptist Church. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church on Tuesday prior to the funeral.

Loren David Clark was born on January 8, 1955 in Vermillion, South Dakota, the son of Alvine R. and Mabel W. (Biesbrock) Clark. He attended country school in Union County, South Dakota and transferred to Beresford, South Dakota. He later attended Remsen Union and Le Mars Community Junior High. Loren graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1973. On June 28, 1975 Loren and Deborah Kellen were united in marriage in Le Mars, Iowa. Loren worked and a machine operator at Wells’ Dairy from 1975 until 1986. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Deb Kellen of Le Mars, IA; children, Jason David Clark and his special friend Lisa DuMond of Le Mars, IA, Jamie (Marcell) Hyer of Le Mars, IA and Katelyn Clark of Sioux City, IA; step-sons, Chad Blum of South Sioux City, NE and Chuck Eberly of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren Ashlynn, Laurel, Jocelyn, and Autumn Clark, Jillian, Drake, Sabrina and Victoria Hyer; mother, Mabel (Arnie) Meister of Le Mars, IA; a sister, Dawn (Ernie) Eason of Orange City, IA; a brother, Guy (Kelly) Clark of Sioux City, IA; and numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Loren spent his last courageous months fighting cancer and showing his family how important the little things in life were. He would often spend time with his grandchildren playing like a child in the yard giving them rides around the block on his power chair, or coloring pictures. He was everyone’s best friend and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his father; son Jashua James Clark on April 5, 2005; a brother, Clair Clark.
