Doris Bouma-Drost, 90, of Orange City, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Bickford Cottages in Sioux City.

Doris Lucille was born on May 10, 1923, at Le Mars, the daughter of Carl Marius and Verbeeca Helena (Kloster) Miller. She was raised at Le Mars, where she graduated from Central High School.

On Feb. 2, 1943, she married Roy LaVerne Bouma in Oyens. They farmed by Carnes, where she was a homemaker. He died Oct. 4, 1966, at Alton.

Doris was employed at various businesses, the last of which was Harkers Meat Products in Orange City.

On July 18, 1970, she married Rudolph "Rudy" Drost in Orange City, where they made their home. He died Oct. 13, 2002, in Hull.

Mrs. Drost then went to the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. Later, she moved to Sioux City, where she became a resident of Northern Hills Assisted Living. About two years ago, she transferred to Bickford Cottages.

She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Orange City, where she managed the Food Pantry for several years and assisted Rudy with custodial duties.

Doris enjoyed crocheting and was an accomplished seamstress. She entertained many guests with cookies and coffee.

Survivors include her two daughters and their husbands, Rhonda and Clyde Klave, of Sioux City, and Betsy and David Urbas, of Hebron, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Marie Bouma, of Orange City; a step-daughter and her husband, Dawn and Lewis Pippitt, of South Sioux City, Neb.; four grandchildren, Ronald Klave, and his wife, Wendy, Cory Klave, and his wife, Lynne, Michael Bouma, and Melissa Bouma; four great-grandchildren, Maraya, Tony, Tori, and Isaiah Klave; and a great-great-grandson, Parker Roy Mouw.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Bouma; a step-son-in-law, Mike Steig; and three brothers, Floyd, Vernon, and Wilbur "Bill" Miller.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the American Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Keith Krebs will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Le Mars. There will be a family prayer service on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m., at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Visitation will be after 4 today (Friday), with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
