FUNERAL OF MRS. FRANK WERNLI

The funeral of Mrs. Frank Wernli, who died on Wednesday night, after a brief sickness with typhoid fever, was held at the German Methodist church on Saturday, and was one of the largest funerals ever held in LeMars, the church being completely filled long before time for the services, and a large number stood on the outside of the sanctuary with heads bowed as the pastor, Rev. Geo. C. Rheinfrank, paid a touching tribute to the memory of the young woman who had been called. Persons were in attendance from all parts of the county. The Kehrberg store where she had been employed as Bookkeeper for about five years was closed from 12 o’clock until 2 p.m. to enable the clerks and proprietors to attend the funeral.

The floral decorations were most beautiful, scores of friends contributed their choicest flower. The clerks at the Kehrberg store, with whom she had been associated so long, sent an elaborate floral design. The LeMars fire department, of which Mr. Wernli is a member, sent a choice floral offering, and the Epworth League of the German M.E. church, of which deceased had been a most valued member, sent a most handsome design.

The pall bearers were Dr. Paul Lucke, Fred Seeger, Louis Steinheuser, Albert Traeder, George Fissell and John Gralapp.

The relatives here to attend the funeral were: Mrs. John Koch of Brookings, S.D.; Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Buente, Arbor Vista, Iowa; Mrs. B. Mauer, of Spitzer, Wis.; Chas. Mauer of Fennemore, Wis.; Louis Wernli, of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wernli of Minneapolis; and Mrs. Kienle of Alden, Iowa.
