WAS LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF IOWA

Mrs. Catherine Lucey, 80 years of age, died Saturday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. D.E. Lambert, at LeMars.

Funeral services were held Monday morning in Assumption Catholic church at Merrill.

A native of Iowa, Mrs. Lucey was born in Clinton county and moved to Crawford county where she taught the first school in that section of the state. After her marriage to Jeremiah Lucey, they moved to Vail, Ia, where they lived about four years.

Besides 11 years spent at Carroll they also lived at Odebolt and Battle Creek. They moved to Merrill in 1907 where she lived 20 years and where Mr. Lucey died in 1925. Since leaving Merrill she has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Lambert.

Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. H.E. Cody of Sioux City, Mrs. W.A. Jones of Hawarden, and Mrs. Lambert; five sons, P.A. and Marquette Lucey both of Sioux City, George of Auburn, Joe of Merrill, and Dr. L.E. of Wichita Falls, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Rose Lynch of Romona, S.D.; two brothers, Bert McAndrews of Vail and New Andrews of Denison, and 12 grandchildren.
