DEATH COMES TO WILLIAM PARKER

WAS RESIDENT FOR MANY YEARS IN THE AKRON COMMUNITY

William Earnest Parker was born June 17,1868, in Grove count, Wisconsin, and passed away at the Cherokee Hospital, January 23, 1953, at the age of eighty-four years, seven months and six days. Mr. Parker came to Plymouth county with his parents as a young man, and resided in and around this community most of his life.

He was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Neal on December 9, 1898, at the Methodist church, Akron, Iowa. To this union four children were born. Mrs. Parker and two children preceded him in death. Mrs. Parker passed away August 11, 1949.

He survived by two children, Bernard, of Clearwater, California, and Mrs. Evelyn Bellwood, Akron, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Oaks, Westfield, Iowa, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Rossow Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, January 21, Rev. Dan J. Peterson, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Lowell Nall sang “The Old Rugged Crow,” with accompaniment by Sylvia Adams. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
