Obituaries: Mrs. Mary Poradek
Death Thursday claimed a resident of Sioux City 22 years when Mrs. Mary Poradek, 84, passed away in the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.L. Armstrong at 709 West Second Street, of complications resulting from advanced age.
Mrs. Poradek was born March 25, 1850 in Bohemia and lived there until she was 32 years old. When she came to the United States and settled on a farm in Plymouth county. She resided there 30 years before coming to Sioux City.
Surviving here are a son, Joseph Poradek of Sioux City, and six daughters, Mrs. Mike Vondrak and Mrs. Charles Juzek of Hinton, Mrs William Bauerly, Mrs. Robert Brownlee and Mrs. Fred LaBahn, all of Merrill, and Mrs. Armstrong of Sioux City. She also is survived by 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed. The body is at Larkin's funeral parlor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at 709 West Second street for Mrs. Mary Poradek, 84, who died Thursday. Rev. P. M. Fowler will officiate and burial will be in Floyd Park cemetery under the direction of Larkin's funeral home.
Mrs. Poradek had been a resident of Sioux City 22 years.
