Mrs. Anna Pecks Succumbs

Dies at the Age of 80 Years and 10 Days

Anna Marie Pecks, nee Mammen, was born December 18, 1844 in Hohenkirchen, Oldenburg, Germany. She was married to William Pecks in 1866, lived in Jones county until 1870, then came to Plymouth county.

Eight children, three girls and five boys, were born to this union, who are: Mrs. Sam Eilers, Brunsville; Annie, at home and Mrs. Peter Reese, dead; Henry, William, Ben and Gerd living in Plymouth county. Fred died from the flu.

In 1912, Mrs. Pecks and Annie came to LeMars. Eight years ago one leg was amputated above the knee, because of gangrene. Ten months later the other leg was removed for the same reason. Since that time a wheel chair has been her only method of locomotion. She was a member of the St. John's church and the Ladie's aid.

Her final illness was due to heart failure, the day before her birthday. She died Sunday evening at the age of 80 years and 10 days.

The funeral will be held Wednaesday afternnon from Beely's undertaking parlors at 12:45 o'clock and at the St. John's Lutheran church at 1 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Grant township Lutheran cemetery. Rev. J. J. Vollmar will officate.
