Lester Boyd and Mrs. Christy Moffatt received word of the death of their father, Volney B. Boyd, who passed away January 16, 1940, in his home near Salem, Oregon, being almost 76 years old at the time of his death.

Mr. Boyd resided here a number of years ago, and while here married Miss Lucy Gibson in Westfield,January 13, 1880. They enjoyed fifty years of married life.

Mr. Boyd leaves to mourn his loss, besides his widow four sons and one daughter. The sons are Cecil, of Salem, Ore.; Roy, of Ryderwood, Wash.; Robin, of Twodot, Mont., and Lester, of Westfield; the daughter, Mrs. Christy Moffatt, of Westfield, and there is also one brother living in Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Boyd visited here a year ago and will be remembered by the older people.
