HAWARDEN, Iowa - Jason James Anderson, 27, of Hawarden died suddenly Wednesday, May 9, 2001, near Akron, Iowa.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, with the Rev. Charlotte Fillingsness of Associated Church officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m. and a remembrance service at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Anderson was born Dec. 13, 1973, in Akron, the son of James Peter Anderson and Corinne Rollins. He attended school in Akron.

He was employed as a welder with Smithco Manufacturing in Le Mars. He was most recently employed as a mechanic for his father in Anderson Trucking Co. in Hawarden.

He enjoyed drag racing, animals, cooking and music.

Survivors include his father and his father's wife, James and Kristi Anderson of Hawarden; his mother, Corinne Hemmelman of Akron; stepfather, James Langley of Akron; a sister and her husband, Stacey and Jeremy Schipper of Hawarden; special girlfriend, Michelle Kroll of Hawarden; a stepbrother, Eddie Langley of Akron; two half brothers, J.R. Langley of McGregor, Texas, and Jeremy Langley of Akron; two stepsisters, Pam Schmidt of Ireton, Iowa, and Sandra Taylor of Westfield, Iowa; a half sister, Sheri Langley of Akron; grandparents, Peter and Lydia Anderson of Hawarden and Sally Rollins of Hawarden; stepgrandfather, Ed Langley of Sioux City; and four nephews and a niece.
